I was born and raised in Southbridge. After residing in both the Boston area and New Hampshire for several years, we moved to Sturbridge in 1995. However, my ties to the Sturbridge community has remained throughout as my husband, Tom, grew up here. Since 2006, I have been a member of the Sturbridge Finance Committee. We are strong supporters of town sports, including the Sturbridge Little League, TRY soccer, travel soccer, and Tantasqua sports' camps. Although Tom has coached many of Matthew's teams over the years, everyone knows the "real coach" is on the sidelines! We have supported many local organizations including the REAS Foundation and Ted. We also contribute to, and support the increased use of, the Voluntary Fund established to help defray the property taxes of low income elderly and disabled persons. I can't cook, so we frequent local restaurants!
I graduated from Boston College in 1985 (summa cum laude) with majors in economics and political science. I am a member of various honor societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon (National Economics Society); and Alpha Sigma Nu (National Jesuit Honor Society). I graduated from Cornell Law School in 1988 (cum laude) with a Certificate of Concentration in Business Law and Regulation. I was a Senior Editor of the Cornell Law Review.
I practiced law for a number of years in various areas including commercial real estate, litigation, and labor law. In the mid 1990s, I became increasingly interested in alternative dispute resolution. I am currently a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Labor Relations Arbitrators. Most importantly, I love to work as a volunteer at my son's school in any way that I can!
