Sturbridge is a wonderful town in which to live!
Each of us contributes in our own unique ways in making our town a true community and a place to call home. I would welcome the opportunity to serve as your next selectman and would ask your support in making this goal a reality. It is both an exciting and challenging time for residents of Sturbridge as we find ourselves in the midst of implementing many positive changes to our infrastructure. Now, more than ever, the Board of Selectmen must exercise strong leadership skills, a cooperative spirit, and careful attention to detail to see those projects through to completion.
Am I pro-business?
Increasingly, this question has been asked of candidates. I consider myself to be "Pro-Sturbridge", which to me recognizes and embraces both the needs of the business community and the residential community. Both must be weighed in any discussion dealing with the future of our town. I also believe that the single, most important thing we can do for our Sturbridge businesses does not originate with the Board of Selectmen. Rather, it is to support them through our patronage, which is within the power of all residents to do.
Am I pro-growth?
Yes! The need for economic growth that is sustainable is vital to ensure an adequate revenue stream to pay for the level and quality of services that we have come to expect from our town while maintaining a reasonable property tax. However, striking and maintaining a balance between the need for growth and the desire to protect those qualities that have prompted residents to establish their roots in Sturbridge is a challenge that requires ongoing effort and dedication.
